I teach with a Pearson online homework system, MyMathLab. It is a good product, but I found some minor things I objected to. I reported my suggestions, and commented about them to my sales rep. She wanted them reported in a different manner. In order to do this, she wanted the password to my MyMathLab account.
I should not have to report a problem with a company’s product more than once, and I’d already reported it twice. One of the problems should be clear to anyone who looked at the system. The online homework used notation that was not the same as the textbook. It should not require my password to report this to the company and get it corrected.
I’m sure she knew the impact of the different manners of reporting problems better than I do, but come on, give away a password? Someone never taught her computer security.
