My grades are in and I’ve been getting emails from students about their grades. In the first place, I can’t give any information in the emails unless they come from the student’s college email accounts. At least twice I’ve had requests for information from parents pretending to be students.
More importantly, unless I’ve made a mistake in a student’s grade, the course is over and the grade is in. There is no credit for persistent begging. The student’s money problems aren’t part of the grade. I’m not going to make extra credit available to one student after the final exam. The grading scale was given the first day of class. The time to worry about how much the final exam counts is before taking it, not afterward.
